What an experience! Harrow Theatre Dance took part in the New Year's Day parade in London yesterday to represent the Borough of Harrow. It was also an
opportunity to raise money for charity.
Despite the rain, our dancers were fabulous- they continued to cheer, clap and dance along the route from The Ritz hotel to Parliament Square in front of
the Harrow float.
The Harrow mayor met us at the end of the route to thank us for participating.
Well done to our dancers and a huge thank you to the parents who supported us along the way!

On Christmas Eve, our senior ballet students performed a beautiful routine as part of the crib service at St George's Church. Past pupil Morgan Bebbington choreogrpahed a lovely dance to Silent Night.
We were delighted to be joined by Mario Gandolif who came to watch them dance. He was so pleased to see some of his costumes being used!
On Saturday 7th December our lovely ballerinas and fabulous LAMDA students performed beautifully at the Christmas at the Crossroads service at North
Harrow Methodist Church.
We brought some Christmas dancing, sabotage in the Bake off tent, some super facts about Christmas and cheeky Christmas poems.
We were very proud of our students and delighted to be part of an event which was celebrating Christmas in our community and raising money for
charity.
Sunday 17th November- Tapathon 2024!
20 of our tappers took part in the annual tapathon to raise money for Children in Need and attempt to break the world record for the largest tap dance in multiple venues.
Although we didn't beat the record this year, we did help raise over £34,000 for Children in Need!
In March, we put on our biennial school dance show. The students danced beautifully and looked fabulous. A huge thanks to our incredible teachers who create such inspiring routines and get such lovely performances from the students.

Our LAMDA students and some of our ballerinas performed at the 'Christmas at Crossroads' service on Saturday 2nd December at North Harrow Methodist Church Hall. It was a lovely event, bringing together the different communities that use North Harrow Methodist as a venue.
We were very proud of our students who performed confidently. Well done!
On Sunday 11th June, we held the biennial Choreography Competition at Ruislip Social Club. Students created routines outside of class and performed them in front of an appreciative audience and our lovely adjudicator Mary Vaughan.
All of the students performed confidently and showed that they have great skills in terms of choreography. It was a very difficult task to choose winners!
2022
At the Compass Mosaic Concert in November, our beautiful ballet students performed a Swan Lake routine. The girls were so professional on and off stage- an absolute credit to the school!
On Sunday 20th November we took part in the anuual tapathon to break the world record for the Largest Tap Dance in Multiple Venues.
Unfortunately we didn't break the record this time, but we did help to raise £29,000 for Children in Need.
It was a great routine this year and we really enjoyed including sign language to the opening section.
On 2nd April we held our school dance show. We were delighted to welcome back our audience and showcase the beautiful dancing of our students.
2021
On Sunday 21st November, 15 of our tappers took part in the Annual tapathon. We are trying to beat the world record for 'The Largest tap dance in multiple venues' as well as raise money for Children in Need. Althrough we didn't beat the record this time, we did contribute to raising over £28,000 for Children in Need.
Also on Sunday 21st November, our Grade 4 and 5 ballet and our Grade 5 modern classes performed in the Compass Christmas Concert.
It was great fun! We can't wait to do it again next year!
Finally in July we were able to perform our (2020) dance show. The first lockdown came two weeks before we were due to do our show, so to ensure our hardwork didn't go to waste, the students continued to rehearse their routines once we were able to return to face to face classes and by July 2021 we were able to put the show on stage.
We weren't able to have an audience and we did have students missing due to isolation, but we filmed all of the routines and were delighted to finally have something to show for all of our hard work.
2020
Obviously it was a challenging year for everyone and we weren't able to do all the things that we had planned.
However, we are very proud of the fact that we were still able to hold exams and 56 students took these and passed with great results!
Our other achievement this year was holding some face-to-face workshops during the Summer holidays when the restrictions had lifted. This gave us a chance to test out the new social distancing practices which we then used in our regular classes during the Autumn term.
A big thank you to all the teachers, students and parents during this year!
Our lovely ballet students (past and present) took part in the Christmas eve crib serivce at St George's Church Hall. They looked absolutely beautiful. What a wonderful way to get in the Christmas mood!
In November our grade 4 modern and grade 1 tap class performed at the Compass Christmas Concert at the Compass Theatre in Ickenham.
Our students not only performed beautifully but also were very supportive of each other and the other community groups who were performing.
In November our tappers participated in the 10th annual Tapathon. We were attempting to break the world record for the largest tap dance in multiple venues which currently stands at 7596 people.
In total across the country there were 7612 so we have in theory broken the record- we are just awaiting final confirmation from the Guinness World Record officials. Check back here for an update in the new year!
Regardless of the record, we are proud that the event raised £38,300 for Children in Need and we raised a further £135 on the day with a cake sale.
In February some of our ballet dancers performed with Trinity Orchestra in their performance of Hansel and Gretel. Their routine was choreographed by past pupil Zara Lackenbury Brown. Congratulations to you all- it was brilliant.
On Sunday 25th March 2018 we held our school dance show at Hatch End High School. It was a tribute to our beloved Principal and founder Wendy Gandolfi, who we lost at the end of last year. She would have been so proud of you all!
TAPATHON 2017 this year involved 7,518 tappers!!! What an incredible achievement for us all — every year we are improving on the previous year's numbers. We fell short of the record by just 78 people.
Each year, thousands of tap dancers come together all over the UK, each one determined to smash the record. It's all in support of a great cause (BBC Children in Need) and this year the event raised in excess of £38,600. Harrow Theatre Dance and Pinner Theatre Dance raised an additional £80 through our cake sale.
